Help Shape SCEMSA's First

Women in Healthcare Summit

The South Carolina EMS Association is hosting its first Women in Healthcare Summit. This event is designed to honor, connect and support women working across all areas of health care.

This year’s theme is Rooted in Growth, with a focus on resilience, reflection and empowerment. The theme celebrates the strength and progress of women in health care who face challenges, remain grounded and continue to grow both personally and professionally.

SCEMSA is seeking presentation proposals that align with this theme and encourage meaningful conversations, learning and connection among women in health care. This includes professionals in EMS, nursing, public health, behavioral health, administration and other related fields.

Sessions may explore topics such as leadership, storytelling, innovation, wellness and personal growth. Your insight can help others feel seen, supported and inspired to keep growing.

Presentation Topics May Include:

Rooted in Resilience
Exploring the strength it takes to thrive in healthcare as a woman. Topics may include coping with burnout, overcoming challenges and growing stronger through adversity.

Nurturing Leadership
Cultivating authentic leadership styles, advocating for self and others, mentoring the next generation and breaking barriers in executive roles.

Wellness and Sustainability
Prioritizing personal health, mental well-being and creating sustainable work-life balance in demanding healthcare environments.

Community and Collaboration
Building networks that uplift. Fostering mentorship, interdepartmental cooperation and peer support across roles and specialties.

Innovation Through a Feminine Lens
Elevating the voices of women in tech, research and innovation within healthcare. Championing new ideas for patient-centered care.

Equity, Advocacy and Impact
Tackling disparities in care, promoting inclusion and encouraging women to lead change through policy, advocacy and equity-driven initiatives.

From Seeds to Systems
Turning ideas into action. Workshops and panels focused on creating programs, systems and strategies that reflect growth, transformation and purpose.

Cultivating the Next Generation
Supporting students, new graduates and early-career professionals through mentorship, scholarship and inspirational storytelling.
